We are fortunate enough to have a kitchen on our school site where the cooks provide excellent freshly prepared meals each day.
Each morning children can choose to have a cooked meal (vegetarian option available) or a cold lunch (sandwich or sausage roll with salad, fruit, cake / biscuit). They will be asked to decide which option they would like and this will be noted down whilst taking the morning register.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive a free school meal as part of Universal Infant Free School Meals.
For those paying for school meals, the current charge for either the hot or cold lunch is £2.30 per day (£11.50 per week). Dinner money should be paid in advance online through our ParentPay system. Information about Free School Meals is below.
Our hot lunches are as follows:
Monday: Pizza – ham or cheese/ vegetable sticks/ lemon & raspberry muffin
Tuesday: Sausage & Mash (vegetable sausage available)/ peas & carrots/ fruit smoothie and biscuit
Wednesday: Roast chicken (or Quorn)/ carrots & savoy cabbage/ fruit crumble & ice cream
Thursday: Light chicken or vegetable curry/ rice & naan bread/ green beans & sweetcorn / chocolate brownie
Friday: Fish (vegan nuggets) & chips/ baked beans or peas/ marble crunch & chocolate sauce

Children can also choose to have a cold lunch which will consist of:
As an alternative to a school meal, children may bring in a packed lunch from home. We ask parents to send these in, in a suitably named container and to contain healthy food. Lunch box ideas can be found on the NHS Change4Life website. Please do not send in fizzy drinks or sweets. Water is available for all children at lunchtimes.
We are a nut free school.
If you think you may be eligible for free school meals, it is important to apply, even if your child gets Universal Infant Free School Meals in Reception and Year 1 & 2. This is because the school receives extra money to help towards your child's education. You can only apply on-line, but the School Office can help you with this if you do not have access to the Internet.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with fresh fruit for their mid-morning snack through the government's '5 a day' scheme. They can, if they prefer, bring in a piece of fruit from home as can the children in the other year groups.
Children in Reception receive free milk until the month after they are five.
Children eligible for free school meals are entitled to free milk up until Year 6. If you would like your child to have milk please contact the school office.
