Our Curriculum
Westgate Community Primary School has developed a fully comprehensive curriculum framework and is committed to meeting the requirements of the primary National Curriculum.
Our schemes of work reflect the content and challenge of the curriculum, with key subjects led by specialists and use of topics to embrace a more cross-curricular approach where appropriate. We make considerable use of extra-curricular activities to engage and enhance learning opportunities, to inspire (and meet the needs) of every learner to reach their full potential.
Through regular assessment, the impact of our curriculum is being monitored and evaluated across phases and across the whole school. The specific learning skills associated with our values and ethos underpin our curriculum, developing our children to become confident life-long learners.
